I am a firm believer that a day spent trawling through vintage stores in Surry Hills and Newtown in Sydney, is a day of learning, achievement and growth. You find some of the most unique and one off items in there, it's amazing. The best thing I ever stumbled across was a black super cropped lj with embroidery on the pockets. I know it sounds foul, but believe me it's wonderful. Any keen vintage shoppers should check out Minty Meets Munt, Cream on Crown, C's Flashback and U-Turn in Surry Hills (all located on Crown Street).
Anyway, back to the point of this post. I am not a regular shopper at Supre, but upon realising that they have 50% off on all sale items, I couldn't help myself, I took the big step into the neon lights and non stop screams of dance music. I literally made the second best purchase of my life. I feel bad about advertising on here, but I think it is necessary. I bought this jacket:
(Mine is charcoal, not white) and I wear it unbuttoned without the cord.
Okay, original price on this jacket, which I might add, is the warmest thing in the world, was $72.00. Last week it had been reduced to $35.00 and this week, it was down to $17.50! I'm sorry but I don't think I've ever been so excited about an item of clothing, I could have cried as to how inexpensive it was. I am feeling strong pangs of sympathy for the people who dished out $72.00 a few weeks ago.

I have to say, chain stores are good for one or two things, but I do like little stores/boutiques - Crown St is amazing. Every time I go to Sydney now I'll pop in :P
Quick Brown Fox in Melbourne (do they have them in Sydney?) is amazing, I love shopping there.
I'm totally with you on this one: I HATE spending money on clothes these days! I'm not sure when or how it happened (actually, I massively blame my boyfriend because he is the biggest spendthrift that I have ever met), but back in the day I'd just buy whatever I liked, without really caring if $200 was an insane amount to fork out for a top. NOT ANYMORE! (Thank goodness.) I baulk at $50 price tags and try to buy most of my clothes at second-hand stores or on Ebay.. it's so much more satisfying! (And leaves me money for other things.. like TAFE text books! Hahahahaha. Yeah, right. ;) ).
I'm so with you on paying full price - just can't bring myself to do it when there is so many other better options. I recently picked up my Docs on Ebay for 13 pounds!
Yay for thrifty shopping! I don't think I've actually paid more than $50 for any item of clothing in my life (except for a corset, and I think that's excusable) - it's my Nan's fault, she taught me well.
Heh, I think a trip to Sydney may be in order for me. I gotta check these places out now. ;)
